1. Introduction

Welcome to The Verified Host. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our platform (https://www.theverifiedhost.com), which provides identity and property verification services for independent hosts. By using our services, you agree to these Terms.

2. Verification Data and Privacy

To issue your "Verified Host" badge, we require specific documentation to verify your identity and your legal right to represent the property.

  • Identity and Ownership Verification: We collect and process government-issued Identification (Passport, National ID, or Driver's License), Proof of Property Ownership (deeds, utility bills), and Live Verification (selfies).
  • What Data We DO NOT Collect: We explicitly do NOT collect guests' personal data, bank login credentials, or private messages.

3. Third-Party Verification Services

We integrate with secure third-party verification providers like Stripe Identity. To maximize security, we do not store raw copies of your identity documents on our own servers; we only retain the confirmation of "Verified" status.

4. How We Use Your Data

Information is used solely for verifying your status, generating your public profile, maintaining ecosystem integrity, and account communication.

5. The "Verified Host" Badge and Profile

Upon successful verification, you are granted a limited license to display the badge. You agree that a public profile page will be created displaying your name, location, and verification status.

6. Data Accuracy and Verification

Verification is based on provided documents. We do not conduct physical on-site inspections, guarantee rental condition, or monitor future behavior.

7. User Rights and Data Deletion

You may cancel your subscription or request data deletion at any time. Deletion results in immediate removal of your badge and profile.

8. Fees, Billing, and Subscription

  • Subscription Model: Access is provided at $9 USD per 6 months, charged on a recurring basis.
  • Non-Refundable Verification Fee: The first month's payment is strictly non-refundable due to immediate third-party API costs.
  • Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

9. Badge Revocation

We reserve the right to revoke badges for fraudulent documentation, credible reports of scams, or payment failure. No refunds are provided upon revocation for breach of terms.

10. Limitation of Liability

10.1 "As Is" Service

TheVerifiedHost platform and the "Verified" badge are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we use advanced AI and official documentation to verify hosts, we do not guarantee that the information provided by users is 100% accurate, current, or error-free at all times.

10.2 Verification vs. Guarantee

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • The "Verified Host" badge is a tool to enhance trust, not a legal guarantee. It signifies that the host has successfully passed our identity and property ownership check at the time of verification.
  • We do not inspect properties in person. We are not responsible for the physical condition, safety, cleanliness, or existence of the rental properties listed by verified hosts.
  • We do not monitor future behavior. A verification at "Point A" does not guarantee that a host will act honestly or professionally at "Point B."

10.3 Exclusion of Damages

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Verified Host, its owners, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from:

  • Transactions between users: Any financial loss, scam, or dispute arising from a booking made directly between a traveler and a host.
  • Property Issues: Any injury, theft, or property damage occurring during a stay.
  • Identity Theft: Any fraudulent use of identification by a user that bypassed our verification protocols.
  • Loss of Revenue: Any loss of bookings or business reputation due to the suspension or revocation of a badge.

10.4 User Responsibility

Users (Travelers and Hosts) are solely responsible for their own due diligence. Travelers should always use caution when sending money directly. The Verified Host acts only as a verification service and is not a party to any rental agreement or financial transaction.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal proceedings.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
